Farrow & Ball began its journey in paint in 1946 overseas in Dorset, England. What's the difference between Farrow & Ball Sheens and traditional US Paint Sheens?
Paint "Sheen" is a measure of how much light reflects off a paint's surface. It's also known as paint finish. Sheens are categorized in ranges. An Eggshell Sheen ranges from 10-25%. Farrow & Ball's uses UK sheens. While they have different names they are similar to traditional US paint sheens.
Dead Flat (2% sheen) is a multi-surface, ultra-matte finish with added toughness. It is most similar to a US Flat.
Estate Emulsion (2% sheen) is very matte with a distinctive, chalky finish, it minimises imperfections. It is most similar to a US Matte.
Modern Emulsion (7% sheen) is a super-tough finish that is washable, scuff-proof, and mold & mildew resistant. It is most similar to a US Low Sheen.
Estate Eggshell (20% sheen) is a washable and wipeable finish that subtly highlights the interior surface. It is most similar to a US Eggshell.
Modern Eggshell (40% sheen) is a tough hard interior finish with a mid-shine. It is most similar to a US Satin/Semi-Gloss.

How should I prep my walls to be painted?
You always want to start with a surface that is clean, dry, and dull. Dont forget to patch or caulk any holes, seams or damaged areas. Next apply a coat of F&B Wall & Ceiling Primer & Undercoater. This will help you to achieve an even finish and enhance the intensity of the topcoat color. Wall & Ceiling Primer & Undercoat is available in four colors to enhance the intensity of your chosen wall or ceiling color.
Can I paint my floor with Farrow & Ball Paint?
Yes, Farrow & Ball's Modern Eggshell Paint is suitable for interior wood or concrete floors. Please follow the recommended surface preparations to ensure the best finish and longest life. Apply 2-3 coats of Modern Eggshell and allow 24 hours for normal use and 14 days before placing or moving heavy items.

Which Brushes and Rollers should I use?
